The best way to "lift" a vehicle is with a good suspension system because it not only increases ride height it also increases chassis ground clearance and enhances suspension performance. No matter how much lift the suspension system provides there is only one thing that will increase the ground clearance under the axles and that is larger diameter tires. The stock tires that come on your suzuki are only 27" in diameter and allow 7.9" of ground clearance under the rear differential. Going to a larger tire such as a 31" would provide about 10" under the axle. The problem is that big tires require more body clearance. You either have to cut away sheet metal or move the body away from the tires. Hence the reason for a body lift.
An added benifit of a body lift is more rocker panel clearance. This is usually one of the first areas to get damaged when off roading so the more clearance here the better. A body lift can help keep them out of harms way. With a body-lift installed you can actually drag your frame over obsticals and ledges while keeping your rocker area a couple inches from damage. Sliders also can protect the body from impact but they actually take away from rocker clearance. We recommend using both a body-lift and sliders for serious off-roading.
